Greetings AMA Community Members,

We ended the 15-16 school year on a positive note and we were busy over the summer getting ready for what will be an outstanding 16-17 school year.  Looking back over the past school year we identified two goals in the areas of student attendance, and increasing our student’s achievement.  AMA is proud that we reached these goals!  Some of our accomplishments include increasing our attendance rate by 3% from the 14-15 school year to a daily average of 95%, and the number of students meeting their growth targets increased. The upper campus increased the number of students meeting their growth targets in Mathematics by 9.8% and 12.2% in ELA. Lower had a 14.8% increase in mathematics and 17.7% in ELA.  We thank you for working with us in partnership to reach our goals.  We expect to continue the above practices making them part of our standard operating procedures.

New and Improved AMA

As we plan for the next three years, we are embarking on the new improved AMA!  With the new and improved AMA, we are re-branding ourselves to place more of an emphasis on “Montessori”.  One of the first things you will notice is our new and improved logo, colors, signage and building improvements.

At the upper campus we expanded to the 7th grade and acquired an additional three classrooms from Our Lady of Loretto church. All the classrooms have been painted, carpet removed and the floors cleaned and waxed.  The upper lobby was updated and fit with a digital screen for pictures and updates/information.

At our lower campus as we gateway to preschool in the future we have added a young 5’s class for the 16-17 school year. You will also notice painted classrooms and hallways and a sparkling clean building.  Many more updates are planned for lower in the future.

The entire AMA team looks forward to working together with you in partnership this school year.

Educationally,

Dr. Ticheal Jones
